Te Waihou and the Blue Spring
The most moognificant and pristine stretch of water I’ve ever seen is the Te Waihou Stream, near Putaruru. The water is so clean and clear it’s no wonder 5 famous brands of water are bottled here. If you’re ever in the area make sure you take the Te Waihou Walkway to the Blue Spring.
The local community and farmers are doing a moovellous job working together to look after the environment by fencing their waterways and planting native trees. I was lucky enough to be given a guided tour by the Nelis and Edmeades families, who showed me all the great work they’ve been doing.
