What is Rosie’s world?
Rosie’s World is a safe, fun site designed to entertain kids and help them learn about dairying. On the site kids can play cool games, watch videos, read Rosie’s blog, learn about Rosie - the dairy industry’s cowbassador, and more.
Who is behind this site?
New Zealand dairy farmers fund this site through their industry body, DairyNZ. It is important to farmers that children know where milk comes from (which is not a supermarket!) and that they develop an awareness of the role of dairying in our communities and economy.
Why should I care about kids learning about dairying?
New Zealand leads the world in many aspects of dairying, and we will have an important role to play in sustainable food production from pastoral based dairying systems. So we believe it is good for children to have an awareness of what we excel at as a country. Dairying accounts for around 30% of our export revenue, making it is a sizable sector that offers a diverse range of exciting careers.
The net offers plenty of fun and wonderful information (take this website, for example) but some of it is not for children’s eyes. So if you want your kids to stay safe online, take this very simple first step.
- Visit www.google.com/preferences
- In the “SafeSearch filters” section, check “Turn on SafeSearch”.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page and it’s done.
